Kettering Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to support safe, compassionate care in our faith-based, patient-centered surgical services. This role prepares operating rooms, organizes instruments and supplies, and maintains a sterile field for a variety of procedures. The Surgical Technician anticipates surgeon needs, assists with patient positioning and prepping, and performs accurate counts to ensure safety. Working within a collaborative, mission-driven team, you'll support infection prevention, equipment care, and room turnover while upholding whole-person care for patients and colleagues. Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and supplies according to surgical procedures
- Maintain sterile field and apply strict aseptic technique throughout procedures
- Anticipate surgeon and team needs, passing instruments and supplies efficiently
- Perform accurate counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments with the circulating nurse
- Assist with patient positioning, skin prep, and draping under RN/physician direction
- Handle specimens safely and label according to policy
- Support infection prevention, equipment care, and room turnover between cases
- Document required intraoperative data in alignment with Kettering Health standards
- Collaborate with faith-based, patient-centered team to ensure safe, compassionate care
