Senior Radiochemist

Job Description

Kettering Health Network seeks a Senior Radiochemist to support our faith-based, patient-centered mission. In this role, you will design, synthesize, and quality-test radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic use, ensuring compliance with cGMP, FDA, and NRC regulations. You will optimize radiolabeling processes, maintain and calibrate hot lab and cyclotron-related equipment, and oversee radiation safety practices. The Senior Radiochemist will mentor junior staff, collaborate with physicians and technologists, support clinical trials, and contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in nuclear medicine services for the Greater Dayton community.

Responsibilities

  • Design and synthesize radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic use
  • Perform quality control testing to ensure compliance with c

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate radiochemistry and hot lab equipment
  • Implement and monitor radiation safety protocols and documentation
  • Collaborate with physicians, physicists, and technologists on clinical applications
  • Support and document radiochemistry aspects of clinical trials and research studies
  • Prepare, review, and update SOPs, batch records, and regulatory documentation
  • Train and mentor junior chemists and technologists in radiochemistry techniques
  • Contribute to process improvement and innovation in nuclear medicine services
