Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients, including assessments, care planning, and ongoing evaluation
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions safely according to physician orders and hospital protocols
- Monitor patient conditions, interpret clinical data, and respond promptly to changes in status
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge plans
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
- Promote patient safety, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives on the unit
- Precept, mentor, and support nursing colleagues and assist with orientation of new staff
