Parkview Health seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide high-quality, evidence-based respiratory care across its hospitals and specialty centers. In this role, you will perform comprehensive assessments, deliver therapies, and manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation for diverse patient populations. You'll obtain and interpret ABGs, collaborate closely with physicians and nurses, respond to rapid responses and codes, and educate patients and families. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with the care team
- Administer respiratory treatments, oxygen therapy, and aerosolized medications per provider orders and protocols
- Manage and monitor invasive and non-invasive ventilators and related respiratory equipment
- Obtain, analyze, and interpret arterial blood gases and adjust therapy accordingly
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMR accurately and timely
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, therapies, and equipment use
- Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards in all clinical activities
- Participate in rapid response and code situations, providing advanced airway and respiratory support
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize respiratory outcomes
- Engage in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives within Parkview Health
