Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic or therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures as prescribed by a physician.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patients using radioisotope equipment under the direction of a specialist.
- Ensure the reliability and safety of all radiopharmaceuticals and imaging equipment before use on patients.
- Document and maintain accurate patient records for all procedures.
- Adhere to radiation safety measures to minimize exposure to patient and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, alleviate fears, and answer inquiries regarding process.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other medical staff, to evaluate the effectiveness of administered radiopharmaceuticals in imaging and treatment.
