Job Description
Kettering Health Network seeks a compassionate Respiratory Therapist I to provide high-quality bedside respiratory care in our faith-based, patient-centered environment. The RT I will deliver oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, airway clearance, and assist with ventilator management while performing respiratory assessments and arterial blood gases. Working collaboratively with nurses and physicians, this entry-level therapist documents care in the EMR, educates patients and families, and upholds infection control and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Deliver bedside respiratory care including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and airway clearance
- Assist with ventilator setup, monitoring, and weaning under supervision
- Perform and interpret basic respiratory assessments and report changes to the care team
- Obtain and process arterial blood gases following safety and quality standards
- Document all care accurately in the electronic medical record
- Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies, equipment, and disease management
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to support care plans
- Uphold infection control, safety, and faith-based service standards of Kettering Health
