In this flexible role, you will float between hospital units based on real-time staffing needs, rapidly adapting to new teams, workflows, and patient populations. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and close monitoring of complex patients. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, uphold safety and infection control standards, and document thoroughly in the EHR. Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients across multiple hospital units
  • Float between units based on staffing needs while quickly adapting to new teams, workflows, and patient populations
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications, and carry out provider-ordered treatments
  • Monitor patient status, interpret clinical data, and escalate changes in condition promptly
  • Coordinate care with physicians, case management, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient discharges
  • Document care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) following hospital and regulatory standards
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, procedures, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain infection prevention, safety, and quality standards aligned with hospital and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in continuous improvement, unit huddles, and best-practice initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
  • Support new staff and travelers by sharing unit knowledge and promoting a collaborative, inclusive culture
