Job Description
Encompass Health Mechanicsburg is currently seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team of healthcare professionals dedicated to improving patient outcomes through high-quality integrated care. This role involves assisting physical therapists in administering treatments and physical interventions under a plan of care to help patients regain or enhance their ability to move and cope with pain after significant illness or injury.
Responsibilities
- Work under the direct supervision of physical therapists to execute specific treatment plans for patients.
- Assist patients with prescribed exercises, under the direction of a physical therapist.
- Monitor patient progress and report observations to the supervising therapist.
- Help in the use of devices such as walkers and provide education on assistive devices.
- Prepare areas and equip for treatment, ensuring cleanliness and safety.
- Document patient responses and the results of own activities according to departmental protocols.
Required Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
