Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. The RN will deliver high-quality patient care, coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary staff, administer medications, and monitor patient progress in a dynamic hospital setting. Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to a diverse patient population in a hospital setting
- Perform comprehensive and focused patient assessments and document findings accurately and promptly
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
- Monitor and interpret patient vital signs, lab results, and clinical status, escalating changes in condition promptly
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, procedures, self-care, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care and optimize outcomes
- Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality improvement protocols at all times
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, unit-based councils, and performance improvement initiatives
- Assist with orientation and precepting of new nurses and support staff as requested
- Demonstrate professional behavior, effective communication, and respect for patients, families, and colleagues
- Manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in urgent and emergent clinical situations
