Outpatient Psychiatry RN

Mohawk Valley Health System is seeking an Outpatient Psychiatry RN to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to adults and adolescents in our outpatient behavioral health clinic. The RN will complete mental health assessments, administer medications, coordinate care plans, and support crisis intervention in collaboration with psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers. This role emphasizes patient education, safety monitoring, and thorough documentation in a modern, team-oriented setting that supports professional growth and community-focused care in the Mohawk Valley region.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient psychiatric nursing care to adult and adolescent patients
• Perform comprehensive mental health assessments and medication administration
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and medications
• Monitor patient progress, safety, and response to treatment
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and care plans
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Support care coordination and referrals to community resources
• Uphold MVHS patient-first, compassionate, and team-based culture
