Job Description
Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Rehab team. In this role, you'll provide compassionate, evidence-based bedside care to patients recovering from illness, surgery, or injury in a teaching, tertiary care environment. Responsibilities include vital sign monitoring, medication administration, wound care, mobility support, and collaboration with a skilled interdisciplinary team. You'll document in the EHR, support patient and family education, and benefit from robust professional development in a mission-driven, patient-centered culture.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a rehab unit under RN and provider direction.
- Perform assessments and monitor vital signs, pain, and functional status.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital policy.
- Support rehab goals through mobility, ADL assistance, and patient/family education.
- Document care accurately in the EHR and follow infection control standards.
- Collaborate with RNs, therapists, and physicians on individualized care plans.
- Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns promptly.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and quality and safety initiatives.
