Job Description
OhioHealth is seeking a Staff RN for our Operating Room team. In this role, you will deliver compassionate perioperative care as a circulating and/or scrub nurse, ensuring patient safety and advocacy before, during, and after surgery. Responsibilities include preparing the OR, coordinating with surgeons and anesthesia, maintaining aseptic technique, and documenting all aspects of care. You will participate in call coverage for urgent and emergent cases. Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate perioperative nursing care in the operating room as circulator and/or scrub nurse.
- Prepare OR suites, equipment, and instruments according to case type and safety standards.
- Perform pre-, intra-, and immediate post-operative patient assessments and documentation.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams to support optimal surgical outcomes.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection control practices.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses per physician and anesthesia orders.
- Participate in on-call rotation, responding to urgent and emergent surgical cases.
- Educate and support patients and families regarding procedures and post-operative expectations.
- Contribute to quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practice in the OR.
- Support and precept new staff and students as needed.
