About the Role
The primary purpose of the Emergency Medical Services Communications Supervisor is to provide for the orderly operation of the EMS system by providing on-line supervision, decision making, and problem solving as needed to all divisions of EMS, completing all required reports and documentation, enforcing operational policies and procedures, observing and evaluating employee performance, providing leadership and direction to EMS Personnel, considering, meeting, and exceeding the expectations of customers and patients of all ages and from all populations while using age and population appropriate equipment and techniques, and by actively seeking other assigned duties to support efficient EMS operations and representing University Hospital, and EMS in a positive and professional manner.

Qualifications & Requirements
Required Certifications & Credentials
Certification as a New Jersey Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or EMT certification in NJ, PA, NY, DE, MD, VA, WV, Washington, D.C., or another Atlantic EMS Council member state. NJ EMT reciprocity must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
OR
Certification as a New Jersey Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICP) or Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN).
Certification in the Basic Telecommunicator Course (BTC).
Certification as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD).
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
For MICP or MICN candidates:
Incident Command System (ICS) Level 200 certification.
Incident Command System (ICS) Level 300 certification. Candidates not possessing this credential at the time of hire or promotion must obtain it within their first year in the position.

What We Offer
Compensation
In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly range for this position is WH/23C ;$32.27- $49.35 per hour. University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs. The expected salary range for this position is in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
