Position Summary:
At BILH - Addison Gilbert Hospital’s GHS - SBHC, the Mental Health Counselor (MHC) is a LICSW or LHMC responsible for the Behavioral Health segment of the wrap-around model of care offered by the SBHC. The MHC works closely with the School-Based Health Center Staff, GHS Administration,
Faculty, Staff, Students, and families belonging to the Gloucester High School Community. Collaborating with other agencies such as JRI/Children’s Friend and Family, Gloucester Health Department, HAWC, NAMI, Younity, etc., in the Gloucester and BILH Community is an essential part of this role.
● Provide individualized counseling to student caseload grades 9-12; building skills in CBT, DBT, and mindfulness
● Facilitate groups in the GHS community to teach and practice social skills and to provide psychoeducation and skill building
● Collaborate with school adjustment counselors, teachers, administration, and families
● Assess students in crisis, work with emergency services, and appropriate treatment placements to address mental health needs
Education - Experience Requirements:
● Active LICSW or LMHC License. LICSW Preferred. (LCSW actively working towards LICSW may be considered)
● Masters degree in Social Work or Clinical Mental Health Counseling
● Meet requirements of MA Department of Public Health, National School Based Health Center network training and LICSW CEUs for licensure.
● Experience working with adolescents in a health care and/or school setting; EMR familiarity
● Bilingual/Multilingual in English and Portuguese and Spanish is a plus
Role Requirements:
● Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written; with active listening skills
● Tech savvy; documentation in EPIC medical records required
● Legally able to work in the US - ie US citizenship or have a work permit
About Us:
Addison Gilbert Hospital’s Gloucester High School - School-Based Health Center is a school-based teen health clinic that is funded by AGH and a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The SBHC is staffed with a Program Manager, Family Nurse Practitioner, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Community Health Worker, and a Front Desk Administrative Support individual.
Pay Range:
$72,800.00 USD - $94,166.63 USDThe pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
Anna Jaques Hospital is a 123 bed community hospital serving 17 cities and towns in the Merrimack Valley .
