Orthopedics Physician Assistant

Job Description

Location: Moab, UT
Salary: $130,000 $160,000/year
Schedule: Full-Time

We re partnering with a well-established critical access hospital in southeastern Utah to find an experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join its growing orthopedic program.

This is an excellent opportunity for a PA who enjoys a broad, hands-on orthopedic role and wants to make an impact in a close-knit community surrounded by some of Utah s most incredible outdoor recreation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and treat acute injuries and chronic orthopedic conditions
  • Provide care in the clinic, ED, inpatient, and surgical settings
  • First-assist in orthopedic surgeries, including fracture fixation and arthroscopy
  • Perform procedures such as fracture reductions, casting, splinting, injections, aspirations, and wound care
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care and follow-up
  • Coordinate care with surgeons, PT/OT, primary care, and other specialists
  • Participate in shared orthopedic call coverage and ED consults
  • Educate patients on treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-activity plans

Requirements:

  • Master s degree from an ARC-PA-accredited PA program
  • Current NCCPA certification
  • Eligible for unrestricted Utah PA licensure
  • Current BLS certification
  • Strong knowledge of orthopedic principles and fracture management
  • Eligible for hospital privileges

Preferred Experience:

  • 1 2+ years of experience in orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, emergency medicine, or a related specialty
  • Orthopedic first-assist experience
  • Experience with casting, splinting, injections, aspirations, and fracture reduction
  • Rural or critical access hospital experience
