Under the general supervision of the supervisor, performs a variety of duties related to patient escort services for the Lahey Clinic Medical Center. Provides basic patient escort functions for inpatients and outpatients during admission, discharge or when traveling to testing areas within the facility, and for outpatients in need of assistance.Job Description:
Hours are nights & weekends, rotating holidays.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
1. Ensures that all floors are properly covered daily to provide routine specimen, chart and mail pick-up and delivery.
2. Ensures that all runs are performed on their scheduled time and that all patients arrive at their scheduled appointments on time.
3. Ensures that all complaints that are received are followed up in a timely manner and that the proper departments are notified on the same day.
4. Dispatches with the ability to properly prioritize calls to ensure the timely delivery of all items and patients.
5. Ensures that all paperwork related to the operation of the department is completed in a timely manner.
6. Trains and orients section employees in proper etiquette, appropriate conversation and desired decorum.
7. Ensures that all U.S. mail is properly sorted and with the proper postage and ready for the scheduled pick-up.
8. Exhibits strong interpersonal skills and responds logically and consistently in unusual or crisis situations
9. Incorporates Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles , Mission Statement and Goals into daily activities.
10. Complies with all Lahey Clinic Policies.
11. Complies with behavioral expectations of the department and Lahey Clinic.
12. Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.
13. Demonstrates an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school degree preferred
Licensure, Certification, Registration: CPR
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards.
Experience: Minimum of three years of work experience in a medical environment
Pay Range:
$18.74 - $25.22The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
Anna Jaques Hospital is a 123 bed community hospital serving 17 cities and towns in the Merrimack Valley . The Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Center is the only such center to receive full accreditation from the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) in Massachusetts .
