Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Special Requests: Can only apply to 1 position at a time across the WVU system. Previous permanent employees must be gone for 2 years. Previous travelers who completed 1 full year there must be gone for 2 years. Eligibility as current/previous employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. Block scheduling will be allowed if included in the contract.
Unit Details: PCU/Tele currently functions more as telemetry acuity than true PCU/stepdown. Common patient population includes elevated troponin, active chest pain, pre/post cath with or without intervention, post-STEMI after ICU recovery, NSTEMI, pacers, occasional post-surgical/ortho and oncology overflow, and peritoneal dialysis patients; peritoneal dialysis training is provided. No titratable drips, DKA, or vents on the unit. Nurses review and document telemetry strips and rhythms q4 hrs. Uses cardiac monitors and Omnicell; charge coverage may be shared between floors, and charge nurses may carry a full patient assignment. PCT support varies by staffing. No IV team; RT, hospitalist, and pharmacy are in house 24/7. Set-rate drips include Cardizem, Amiodarone, Labetalol, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, Integrilin, and nitro. Bipap, Cpap, and high flow are managed by RT. Opportunities for charge and precepting.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend for nights (Fri/Sat). Holidays may be required based on unit needs; the director tries not to schedule travelers on holidays when possible. Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
Floating Requirements: Rarely float, but if needed may float to overflow tele or Ortho/MedSurg.

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
