Job Description
Provides Pharmaceutical Care to patients in Kentucky Children’s Hospital inpatient hospital setting. Reviews and interprets medication orders and drug profiles to ensure appropriate drug therapy has been prescribed. Contacts and confers with physicians and other practitioners to optimize drug therapy. This will include active review of patient profiles, provision of therapeutic drug monitoring, participation in emergency response, etc. Compounds and dispenses medications for neonatal and pediatric patients. Provides supervision of technical staff and confirms the quality and accuracy of dispensed products. Maintains inventory and records on narcotics and other forms of drugs.
Qualifications
BS
No experience required.
Licensed Pharmacist
PharmD degree preferred. ASHP PGY1 residency and/or PGY2 specialty residency preferred.
Strong clinical skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution and dispensing; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; team mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position.
Schedule
Second shift, Monday through Thursday. One summer and one winter holiday per year.
