Job Description

The AEMT at UKHC is primarily responsible for providing high-quality medical care during interfacility ambulance transports. They ensure the safe and efficient transport of patients, adhering to established protocols and maintaining a strong commitment to patient and team safety, service excellence, and professional development. This position will be limited to ambulance operations and will not operate within the emergency department. The AEMT may also be asked to provide overflow support to the Emergency Medical Dispatchers taking pediatric/neonatal transfer calls and completing intake on other dispatching calls during periods of downtime.

Qualifications

2 yrs
Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) and valid Driver’s License; American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for the Healthcare Provider, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification valid for at least 6 months after employment date.
Two years of related experience highly preferred.
Basic medical terminology and computer skills.

Schedule

Must be able to work three 12-hour shifts per week; will also be required to work some weekends and holidays.
