Medical Laboratory Scientist – Laboratory Department

Work location: Texas Health Kaufman- 850 Ed Hall Drive, Kaufman 75142
Work hours: PRN- Rotating shifts

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science preferred. Individuals hired as a CLS II prior to January 3, 2010 will be grandfathered to the MLS position with existing education. degree may be obtained within 3 months of hire is required
- Internship in an approved Medical Technology training program is required and
- 2 Years experience in a Medical Laboratory is preferred
- MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist 6 Months is required Or
- MLS(ASCP) - Medical Lab Scientist 6 Months is required Or
- Other AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS- CA, FL, NY state license, Philippine Board of Technical Technology 6 Months is required Or
- M(ASCP) - Microbiology if working in Microbiology 6 Months is required
What You Will Do
- Maintains specimen integrity throughout the testing process
- Demonstrates active cost effectiveness
- Participates in orientation and training of students, volunteers, new employees and observers
- Adhere to the THR Promise Behaviors
- Gives direction and guidance to technical staff and laboratory support personnel
- Demonstrates understanding of quality control guidelines

Located on 33 acres in Rockwall just south of interstate 30, Texas Health Rockwall offers 60 inpatient beds for acute medical and surgical needs. The hospital continues to grow and visiting campus today you will find a Women's Imaging and Breast Center, a bariatric clinic, an ambulatory surgery center and a variety of physician practices all dedicated to our evolving community health needs. You will see that our long awaited expansion is well underway! This expansion, focused on a healthy future in this high growth area of North Texas, will double the size of our hospital adding more patient beds, a Level 2 NICU, Cardiac Cath Lab and expanding other departments including Labor & Delivery, OR and the emergency room.
