St. David's Medical Center in Austin seeks a Registered Nurse for Presurgical Testing to assess, educate, and prepare patients for surgical procedures. Responsibilities include obtaining health histories, reviewing labs and diagnostics, coordinating testing, performing focused assessments, and communicating risks or concerns to surgeons and anesthesia. The RN will provide patient education on pre- and post-op instructions, ensure documentation accuracy in the EMR, uphold infection control and safety standards, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment emphasizing clinical excellence and continuous learning.
