JOB SUMMARY

The Physical Therapy Assistant at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for maintaining patient care productivity, effectively implementing treatment plans established by licensed Physical Therapists, and demonstrating competence in various therapy techniques. This position requires strong organizational skills, coordination with interdisciplinary teams, and the ability to address patient needs while adhering to regulations and guidelines.

Budget: * Remains within monthly budget when ordering equipment and supplies. * Charges patients appropriately and in a timely manner for treatment equipment. Clinical: * Maintains productivity level at department target. * Effectively carries out treatment plan established by licensed Physical Therapist. * Remains competent in the following areas: * Therapeutic Exercise/Activity. * Gait training. * Cognitive skills. * Wheelchair transfers. * Modalities as appropriate for PTA. * Attends and provides continuing education inservices. * Serves as mentor for new employees. * Serves as clinical instructor after one year of experience as a clinician. * Completes documentation according to all regulations and in a timely manner. Other: * Must be competent in use of computer for documentation and charging purposes. Regulation: * Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines. * Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statutes.
