Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Required
Associate's Degree in lieu of Bachelor degree willing to accept Associate Degree with 4 years of Oncology/Radiology/Pulmonary experience beyond the required minimum. Required
Master's Degree . Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure. RN with active Mississippi Licensure. Upon Hire. Required
. Oncology Certification. within 1 Year. Required
TTS - Tobacco Treatment Specialist. . within 1 Year. Preferred
Work Experience
1-3 years. Minimum of one year of Oncology/Radiology/Pulmonary clinical experience. Required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication required
Working knowledge of computer and software programs required
Ability to work well with providers, physicians and staff
Works closely with oncology care providers to provide evidence based care
Understands organizational process and demonstrated knowledge of patient centered care
Researches strategies for evidence based improvements and assists multi-disciplinary team in developing and implementing improvements
Utilizes creative and critical thinking
Provides clinical expertise on cancer/cancer care to patients and staff members
Must have extensive contact with: patients, physicians, and all NMMC personnel
Must convey a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must reflect a positive, caring attitude toward clients, patients, staff and the public we serve
Builds awareness of navigator position with care providers
