Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 W. Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093
Work hours: Full Time-Nights (7:00 pm-7:00 am; Three – 12 Hours Shift) for 36 hrs./week. Self-scheduling, no set schedules and rotating days
Labor & Delivery highlights:
· 17-LDR’s (Labor/Delivery/Recovery rooms)
· 4 OR suites
· 350-400 deliveries per month on average
· Separate Antepartum/High Risk OB department
· Associate degree Nursing required or Nursing Diploma
· BSN (Preferred)
· 1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program (Required)
· 2 Year of Labor & Delivery experience (Strongly Preferred)
· Baby catching experience (Helpful)
· Charge Nurse Labor & Delivery experience (Preferred)
· RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire (Required upon hire)
· BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly (Required) And
· NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days (Required) And
· ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days (Required) And
· IFM - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring 6 Months (Required upon hire) And
· NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days (Required) And
· CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req
What You Will Do
· Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
· Assesses the patient
· Plans the care of the patient
· Intervenes as appropriate
· Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
· Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
· Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
· Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.

You will see that our long awaited expansion is well underway! This expansion, focused on a healthy future in this high growth area of North Texas, will double the size of our hospital adding more patient beds, a Level 2 NICU, Cardiac Cath Lab and expanding other departments including Labor & Delivery, OR and the emergency room.
