JOB SUMMARY
The Technologist II-Radiology at North Mississippi Health Services plays a crucial role in performing various technical procedures requiring independent judgment and applying ionizing radiation. They also contribute to budget control by minimizing supply use and overtime. This position acts as a liaison between staff, physicians, patients, and family members, ensuring effective communication and interaction within the Radiology department.
 
JOB FUNCTIONS
Technical:
  • Have the ability to perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation.
Budget:
  • Keep supply use to a minimal and maintain overtime to 3% or less.
Liaison:
  • Serves as a liaison between staff, physicians, patients, and family members to ensure effective communication/interaction.
  • Ensures high quality health care is delivered within the Radiology department by effectively interacting and cooperating with providers.
Reporting:
  • Prepares and presents patients reports/projects as required.
  • Maintains that exams and charges are correct on daily basis.
Regulation:
  • Must have the training and experience to perform in the modality of two or more of the following modalities: CT, MRI, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine or Diagnostic Radiology, or work as NMMCI Urgent Care techs performing laboratory testing and routine radiography after hours and on weekends.
  • Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.
  • Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues.
