JOB SUMMARY
The Intern - Radiology  at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for assisting patient care tasks under the direct supervision of a Registered Staff Technician/Sonographer. This includes performing treatment parameters,  performing daily treatments, and assisting in procedures as requested or required.  The intern will be actively engaged in patient interactions, ensuring high-quality care, and contributing to the treatment of  patients.

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs high quality/cost-effective diagnostic procedures under the supervision of a Registered Staff Tech or Registered Sonographer.
  • Assists Physicians and medical staff during procedures as requested/required.
  • Provides excellent customer service in an accurate and efficient manner.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, family members, Physicians, other medical staff, and NMMC staff members.
  • Attends required in-services, annual review, and educational programs.
  • Knowledgeable of procedures, positions, supplies, and equipment used in Radiological examinations.
  • Stays abreast of changes in Radiology.
  • Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.
  • Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues.
  • All other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

  
Education Level **Education Details (**Required/Preferred)

 High School Diploma or GED Equivalentor equivalent; Required
And
 Other (Experience)Successful completion of 3 semesters of didactic and clinical competency requirements from an accredited Radiologic Technology program; Required
Or
 Other (Experience)Successful completion of 6 months of training from an accredited ultrasound program.Required
Or
 
Licenses and Certifications

Registered or registry eligible by the American Radiologic Technologists within 6 months of accepting position; required (ARRT)

Licensed or license eligible by the State of Mississippi within 6 months of accepting position; required (MRT)

American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification;
Required

American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification within 2 years of accepting sonography position at NMHS- Required for sonography positions
