We re seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible NeuroHospitalist to join our Inpatient team and provide exceptional care to patients in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.
What You ll Do
- Full-time, salaried supported position
- Provide neuro consultation only
- Admission and primary medical management is provided by general hospitalist.
- Be part of a comprehensive stroke team
- Participate in neurohospitalist practice efficiencies, quality improvement programs, education activities for medical students, residents, nurses and allied health professionals.

- Week on / week off schedule
Qualifications
- MD or DO, licensed (or eligible) in SD
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurology
- DEA certification (state and federal)

About Our Clinic & Collaborative Health System
Neurological care services associated with Avera Brain & Spine Institute include: a 28-bed medical & surgical ICU, 8-bed dedicated neuro ICU, 8-bed high acuity unit, a 12-bed neuroscience intermediate unit, designated outpatient neurological diagnostic center, designated video EEG-monitored beds, and a sleep diagnostic center (AASM accredited). The Avera Brain & Spine unit supports all aspects of care for critically-ill patients with primary neurological disorders.
Avera McKennan Hospital is a 545-bed, non-profit, Catholic facility and the regional referral center for the Avera Health System and surrounding five-state area. Our Careflight helicopter, ground and fixed wing aircraft transport patients from a service area with a population of 1,300,000 to our Level II Trauma Center.
