HOUSEKEEPING AIDEJob Description:
Essential Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Provides for clean, safe, and attractive facility in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Performs routine 10-step cleaning of patient and non-patient areas.
Dry mops, wet mops, and sanitizes hard floor surfaces. Vacuums all carpeted areas as needed.
Performs discharge and terminal cleaning of precaution rooms, including wall washing and cubical cleaning as needed.
Follows patient safety protocol.
Removes and transports trash from assigned areas.
Completes daily assignments within shift hours.
Empties trash and laundry bags as needed and transports to designated areas as assigned.
Moves equipment and beds as needed.
Maintains equipment in good, clean, working order.
Reports equipment problems and safety hazards to Supervisor on a timely basis.
Performs room set-up and break-down for hospital meetings and functions.
Cleans the operating suites as described in departmental policies and procedures, as assigned.
As assigned, effectively assumes a leadership role in the department as charge housekeeper during off-shifts or as needed. Delegates tasks, provides appropriate guidance and support to team members, and acts as a resource to new staff.
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Pay Range:
$17.00 - $22.88The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
Anna Jaques Hospital is a 123 bed community hospital serving 17 cities and towns in the Merrimack Valley . The hospital offers a wide range of acute care services to meet the needs of our growing patient population including inpatient and outpatient surgery in fully digitized computerized operating room suites, cardiology including echocardiography and a cardiac cath lab, comprehensive cancer services, orthopedics, nuclear medicine, laboratory, noninvasive vascular lab, joint replacement program and birth center.
Programs include the number one wound center in the nation, a primary stroke service, and Level III Trauma Center . Diagnostic imaging services for patients include MRI, CT, PET, and the PACS digital x-ray system. The hospitals Non Invasive Vascular laboratory was accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL).
For the second year in a row, the American Association for Respiratory Care awarded the hospital its Quality Respiratory Care Recognition. The hospital had no ventilator acquired pneumonia cases during the last year.
The Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Center is the only such center to receive full accreditation from the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) in Massachusetts .
