Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
1) In conjunction with other technician colleagues and supervisors ensures that all drug distribution functions are completed in a safe and timely manner; informs pharmacist and/or other supervisors of any workflow issues.
2) Repackages and compounds medications, as needed, in accordance with departmental procedures.
3) Maintains appropriate inventory levels in area of practice by rotating stock, checking for expired medications, informing pharmacy buyer when inventory levels are low, and checking in wholesaler order.
4) Understands and effectively utilizes all appropriate technology to accomplish job duties.
5) Answers telephone calls, triaging requests and following through with appropriate action.
6) Actively participates in continuous performance improvement activities of the department, including providing suggestions on how to improve day-to-day operations.
7) Demonstrates competency in all required areas for a Pharmacy Technician I. Completes all departmental competency requirements
8) Incorporates Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles , Mission Statement and Goals into daily activities.
9) Complies with all Lahey Clinic Policies.
10) Complies with behavioral expectations of the department and Lahey Clinic.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Must be a registered technician with the MA Board of Pharmacy or must become registered with the MA Board of Pharmacy after 500 hours of worked hours on the job and prior to 1000 worked hours.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet the requirements of this job description. Math skills are required. Understands standard pharmaceutical/medical terms, abbreviations and symbols commonly used in the prescribing and dispensing of medications. English communication skills oral and written comprehension. Knowledge of policies and regulations pertaining to handling and distribution of controlled substances and hazardous materials preferred. Experience with electronic medical records preferred.
Experience: One year experience as a pharmacy technician preferred
Pay Range:
$25.00 - $33.65The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
