Carilion Clinic is seeking a Vascular Neurologist to join our growing academic neuroscience team in beautiful Roanoke, Virginia. As a Primary Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center with The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval, we are actively advancing our stroke program and pursuing Comprehensive Stroke Center designation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team dedicated to delivering cutting-edge stroke care while helping shape the future of our expanding program.

For physicians with leadership aspirations, there is an opportunity to serve as Stroke Medical Director and help guide the continued growth and strategic direction of our stroke program.

You'll have the support you need to provide exceptional patient care, including:

  • Primary Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center with an established endovascular program and 24/7 neurointerventional physician coverage
  • Dedicated Stroke Nurse Practitioner and Stroke Coordinator
  • Robust telestroke network supporting Carilion's regional hospitals
  • Integrated network of seven hospitals connected by the Life-Guard program with four helicopters and critical care air transport
  • Onsite 34-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, including five dedicated brain injury beds
  • Collaborative support from Cardiology, Critical Care, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, and other specialty services
  • Active community outreach and stroke education initiatives
