As a Primary Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center with The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval, we are actively advancing our stroke program and pursuing Comprehensive Stroke Center designation. • Primary Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center with an established endovascular program and 24/7 neurointerventional physician coverage
• Dedicated Stroke Nurse Practitioner and Stroke Coordinator
• Robust telestroke network supporting Carilion's regional hospitals
• Integrated network of seven hospitals connected by the Life-Guard program with four helicopters and critical care air transport
• Onsite 34-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, including five dedicated brain injury beds
• Collaborative support from Cardiology, Critical Care, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, and other specialty services
• Active community outreach and stroke education initiatives
