- No. of Beds in Department: 8 ED beds (6 main, 2 fast track)
- EMR System: Epic
- Specialty Backup Available: Backup from multiple specialties including cardiology, urology, OB/GYN, and general surgery
- Support Staff Available: NP/PA coverage (10 hours daily), RNs, and ancillary staff
- Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine
- Licenses: Active unrestricted LA Medical License; DEA with LA address; LA Controlled Substance; Supervising Physician License
- DEA / CDS: Active DEA and LA Controlled Substance required
- Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS, BLS (PALS required only if not BC in EM or EM trained)
- Experience: Residency trained in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine; new graduates accepted
- Other Qualifications: Case logs for past 2 years; CME records for past 2 years including 10 hours Trauma/Stroke annually; Must meet supervising physician requirements for NP/PA oversight; Completion of sedation modules during onboarding
- Provide 24-hour physician coverage for the Emergency Department
- Supervise NP/PA staff providing 10-hour daily coverage
- Manage an approximate daily volume of 52 patients
- Perform standard emergency medicine procedures and coordinate with on-call specialists
- Complete required sedation training modules and participate in quality programs
