As a Certified Physical Therapy Assistant, you’ll work closely with licensed Physical Therapists and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality therapy services to patients from infancy through adulthood.

What You’ll Do

Under the indirect supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the Certified Physical Therapy Assistant provides direct patient care and supports individualized treatment plans across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide direct physical therapy services to patients from infancy through adulthood following established plans of care

  • Apply principles of growth and development to deliver age-appropriate treatment

  • Perform prescribed therapeutic exercises, modalities, and functional activities

  • Use clinical judgment to monitor patient response to treatment and identify when Physical Therapist consultation is needed

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary care teams

  • Document patient treatments and progress after each session in accordance with established standards

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program

  • Active Physical Therapy Assistant license issued by the Washington State Department of Health

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Work Environment

This role is performed in inpatient and outpatient healthcare settings and involves frequent interaction with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Physical Demands
