Primarily function as a trauma hospitalist rounder with potential ED consults, trauma activations, and procedures (for those with surgical and trauma critical care experience may have needs for this)
No call; in-house only
Average Patients Per Day: 10-14 admitted patients to round on if non-ICU, 6 if ICU, admitting/ED can be 2-15 per 24 hours
EMR: EPIC
Trauma Level: Level I adult, cares for Pediatrics
Autonomous Work
Supervising Physician: Staffed with Trauma Surgeon 24-hour per day
Patient Demographic: Primarily adult and adolescent, ages 0-100+
Required Procedures (Preferred but not necessary): Non-Invasive Vent Management (bipap/cpap), Ventilation Management, Chest Tube Insertion, Central Line, Arterial Line, Suturing Minor Lacerations
Responsibilities: Responding to the ED for Trauma Alerts, Facilitating Discharges, ER Admissions, Daily rounding and management of all conditions
Guidelines and non clinical expectations for tracking
Requirements
Board Certified (ACNP, AGNP, PA-C)
No FNPs, only Acute Care NP or PA
Minnesota License
ATLS, PALS, ACLS
NOC Shift 7:00pm-7:30am

Self-Query NPDB report, must be pulled within the same month
Minimum 1 year of practice as an APP in the inpatient setting, optimally with trauma, ICU, and/or orthopedics
