Position Highlights:
- Our physicians are typically scheduled to work 3-5 days in the adult inpatient program and typically carry a caseload of 16-18 patients, participating in all areas of treatment along with a team of a nurse case manager (solely dedicated to team duties), a case worker, and therapist (s).
- Monday-Friday schedule; Weekend (Sat & Sun) call is voluntary

Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:- Provides psychiatric evaluations at various levels of care and makes diagnoses and treatment recommendations based upon those evaluations.
- Evaluates each patient?s need for psychotropic medication and prescribes medications where needed and appropriate. Educates patients and their families about the benefits, effects, and possible side effects of the medications prescribed. Schedules follow up visits with patients to monitor and adjust these prescribed medications, as necessary.
- Maintains medical record documentation that is accurate, complete, comprehensive and timely.
- Orders medical tests, laboratory studies, consultations, and additional evaluations as needed for good patient care.
- Participates on appropriate committees and attends and/or conducts meetings as required.
- Participates in Medical Staff activities as required and/or as requested.
Common Expectations:- Observes the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Hospital and the Medical Staff.
- Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
- Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

- Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required
Courses and Training:- Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry or the American Osteopathic Board of Psychiatry. Upon Hire Required and
- Completion of a Psychiatry residency and a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. (Not applicable for Adult Programs) Upon Hire Required and
- Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff. Upon Hire Required
