Nurse Practitioner II
Location: Deerfield Correctional Center21360 Deerfield Drive Capron, VA 23829
Shift: Monday Friday 4 x 10-hour shifts (Tuesday Friday)
Facility: Deerfield Correctional Center (DFCC)
Job Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive on-site primary care services to patients.
• Looking for a candidate with experience in General Practice or Internal Medicine.
• Perform physical examinations and diagnose acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Prescribe medications and administer treatments within the Nurse Practitioner scope of practice.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic studies.
• Evaluate patients for specialty referrals and review consultation reports.
• Provide routine, urgent, and emergency medical care as needed.
• Conduct infirmary rounds as directed by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
• Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and follow-up care in accordance with facility policies and standards.
• Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care.
Minimum Qualifications
• Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Active Virginia Nurse Practitioner License.
• Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP).
• Current Board Certification (or Board Eligible).
• Current BLS/CPR Certification (Healthcare Provider level).
• Active DEA Registration.
