Oncology - Medical Oncology Physician

Job Description

We areseeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Medical Oncology Physician for alocum tenens opportunity in Richmond, Indiana. This position offers aconsistent weekday schedule with shared call responsibilities while workingalongside a collaborative oncology team dedicated to providing high-qualitycancer care.

PositionDetails

  • Schedule: Tuesday-Friday
  • Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
  • Mondays Off
  • Practice Setting: Outpatient Oncology Clinic with Call Coverage

CallResponsibilities

  • Night call on select weekdays (schedule to be determined)
  • Weekend call rotation (schedule to be determined)
  • Call responsibilities include serving as both the primary and backup physician for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)

ClinicalResponsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
  • Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies.
  • Provide follow-up care and ongoing disease management.
  • Review laboratory, pathology, and diagnostic imaging results.
  • Collaborate with APPs, infusion staff, nurses, pharmacists, and other specialists to deliver comprehensive cancer care.
  • Provide physician support for APPs during assigned call coverage.
  • Maintain timely and accurate medical documentation.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Medical Oncology
  • Active Indiana medical license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required if requesting conscious sedation privileges
  • Current DEA registration (if applicable)
