Nephrology Physician

Job Description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Nephrologist, this is an exceptional opportunity to join a vital and expanding team at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health. You'll be part of a collaborative and supportive group in Seattle at Virgina Mason Medical Center, serving our downtown medical center and regional clinics, all dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Every day, you will apply your comprehensive expertise to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of kidney conditions. This involves patient consultations, developing treatment plans, including managing dialysis and transplant patients, and focusing on preventive care and health education, all within a collaborative healthcare team. You'll work closely with leadership and colleagues who value compassion, integrity, excellence, inclusion, and collaboration.

To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled and compassionate BC/BE Nephrologist, possessing expertise to thrive within a collegial and supportive environment that champions continuous improvement and innovation through our Virginia Mason Production System.

  • Provide comprehensive general nephrology care to a diverse patient population in both outpatient clinics and through an inpatient consultative service.
  • Manage a busy inpatient service primarily at Virginia Mason Medical Center, a destination center for advanced cardiac services and home to a Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including other nephrologists, allied health professionals, medical assistants, and clinical support staff, to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Engage in learning opportunities, including continuing medical education, teaching, and professional growth, with leadership prospects based on your skills and interests.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate patient records. (While EPIC isn't explicitly mentioned for Nephrology, it's standard at VMFH, so I'll keep it general unless you specify.)
  • Work within a team that prioritizes physician wellness and values the engagement of both staff and patients.
  • Contribute to our mission of improving the health and wellbeing of our patients, focusing on quality outcomes and innovative care delivery models.
  • Compensation ranges from $340,000 - $400,000/year.

We are offering a competitive compensation model that incentivizes clinical productivity, teamwork, and the highest quality care. This position has an attractive benefits package including medical malpractice coverage and a commitment to work-life integration.
