How you'll contribute
The RN Board Runner coordinates the daily assignments and staffing functions of the OR suites. This position facilitates staff, patient, surgeon, anethesia and case movement to provide optimum service for patients. The board runner also handles interdepartmental communication with all those involved in the care delivered to the patient. They carry a phone to answer any questions regarding the OR and patients coming to the OR. They coordinate the scheduling of doctor offices for add on cases. Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice in Surgery, as necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing or RN Diploma - Required
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be current upon hire.
ACLS & PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required within 12 months of employment, if not current upon hire Licenses:
State of Tennessee or Multi-State Registered Nurse licensure - Required
Minimum Work Experience 1 year experience in Medical/Surgical or Surgery Nursing - Preferred
