| Physical Requirements | This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation; performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); standing or walking with objects weighing up to 10 pounds; lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds; and occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Also involves some risk of back injury from moving, lifting or positioning patients, equipment, or materials; risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; and exposure to blood-borne or airborne pathogens, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, cuts/punctures, burns, and combative/violent people. |
| Shift | Shift to be primarily during the hours of 7am-7pm working 7 days on/7 days off. Shifts to be discussed during interview and will include holidays and weekend coverage per rotation. Hours and rotation may be adjusted based on required FTE, the needs of the department, and for holiday rotation of the 7on/7off team. |
| Job Summary | Compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receiving written orders from physicians. Reviews and interprets prescriptions and drug profiles to ensure appropriate drug therapy has been prescribed and ensures that drug interactions are evaluated. Position supports facilitating discharge patients from UK Emergency Department and inpatient hospitals in acquisition of medications written upon discharge. Position supports and provides assistance with the documentation, filling of prescriptions, financial assistance with acquisition of medications, billing and dispensing of the medications to bedside for patients using our Meds To Beds program. |
