Education and Experience Required:
Master's degree in library science or library and information science and two (2) years of library experience in an academic, health sciences, or research library.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of medical and health sciences terminology, biomedical databases (e.g., PubMed/MEDLINE, CINAHL, Cochrane Library), evidence-based practice principles, and systematic literature search methods. Skill in advanced literature searching and database querying, evaluating scholarly and clinical research, teaching information literacy, communicating with clinical and academic staff, and using citation management tools (e.g., EndNote, Zotero). Ability to translate clinical and research questions into effective search strategies and collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Requires occasional handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, occasional travelling to offsite locations, frequent bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, frequent crouching/stooping, frequent kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, occasional reaching, constant sitting, occasional standing, occasional twisting, and occasional walking. The University of Mississippi Medical Center, located in Jackson, is the state’s only academic medical center.
