Located in Boston and the surrounding communities, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leader in life changing breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a vigorous, externally funded research program, provide scientific leadership within the department, and contribute to the training of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and medical/health professions students. They should contribute to the educational mission at HMS by teaching graduate and/or medical students, and participate in departmental and institutional service at DFCI and HMS.
Candidates should have a PhD, MD or MD/PhD, an accomplished record of research productivity, a sustained history of extramural research funding, national and international reputation, and a commitment to mentoring and training the next generation of scientists. Ideally, the candidate will also have experience in building and leading multidisciplinary research teams and collaborating with translational programs and/or industry partners.
The candidate will be housed at DFCI and will have an academic appointment at HMS in one of the following departments: Cell Biology, Immunology, Systems Biology, or Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology. DFCI strongly encourages team science, entrepreneurship and mentorship of scientists and physicians from a variety of backgrounds. The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.
For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
