Job Title: Locum Tenens Gastroenterology Physician (Outpatient)
Location: Multiple outpatient facilities in Georgia (Gwinnett County and surrounding areas)
Assignment Overview:
A healthcare organization in Georgia is seeking a Board-Eligible or Board-Certified Gastroenterology physician for a locum tenens assignment to provide supplemental outpatient coverage across multiple clinic locations.
Assignment Details:
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: July 31, 2026
- Schedule: Scheduled clinical hours only (no call required)
- Practice Setting: Outpatient
- EMR System: Epic
- Patients per Day: Approximately 12
- Coverage Type: Supplemental
Facility Details:
- Multiple outpatient comprehensive medical centers
- No hospital or surgery center privileges required
- Stroke-certified facility
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Outpatient gastroenterology care
- Perform and interpret procedures including:
- Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, foreign body removal, and bleeding control)
- Colonoscopy (with biopsy and polyp excision)
- Sigmoidoscopy (flexible)
- Esophageal manometry interpretation
- Small bowel biopsy
- Lower GI endoscopy
- Admissions required; no inpatient rounding
Requirements:
- Active Georgia medical license (required at time of submission)
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- Board certification must align with specialty
- No fellowship required
Support & Staffing:
- No supervision of advanced practice providers required
- No teaching or resident supervision required
Credentialing:
- Estimated timeframe: 21 days
Call Coverage:
- No call responsibilities
Additional Notes:
- Only one provider will be accepted for this assignment
- No reimbursement for licensing costs
- Standard U.S. holidays observed: New Year s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
