Night Shift Coverage April 2026 Start
WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking Emergency Medicine MDs/DOs for night shift coverage across multiple Emergency Departments in Central Pennsylvania, beginning April 27, 2026.
This opportunity is best suited for experienced EM physicians who are comfortable with full-scope emergency care, flexible scheduling, and night coverage in well-established community hospitals.

Coverage Type: Night shift coverage
Setting: Inpatient Emergency Departments
Rate: $300/hour
Travel Covered: Mileage, lodging, rental car & fuel, ground transportation, parking
Candidates must be local enough to drive in
Coverage across two Emergency Departments in the region
One site features a higher-volume ED ( 45K visits / 53 beds) with 10-hour shifts and variable start times
The second site is a lower-volume ED ( 19K visits / 27 beds) with 12-hour shifts
Shifts include overnight coverage; candidates must be willing to work nights
Occasional mid-level coverage times may be requested if needed
Patient population ranges from pediatrics through geriatrics
Acute, emergent, and trauma cases
Full procedural scope including:
Intubations
Chest tubes
Central lines
Joint & fracture reductions
Joint aspirations
Laceration repair
I&D
Other procedures within the scope of an EM residency-trained physician
Cerner (with transition to Epic underway)
Completed Emergency Medicine Residency
Board Certified ABEM or Osteopathic EM (or truly Board Eligible)
Stroke Certified
Minimum 2 years Emergency Medicine experience
ATLS / ACLS / BLS / PALS not required if board certification standards are met
Willingness to work night shifts only
