General Description:
As a member of an integrated team, promotes a healthy professional practice environment and supports inter-professional collaborative relationships within OU Health. The Nurse Residency Program Coordinator serves as a change agent, mentor, and leader and fully supports the Nurse Residency Program (NRP) and all professional development activities at OU Health. Responsible for the overall coordination of the OU Health Vizient/AACN Nurse residency program, including collaborating with Human Resources in the recruitment of Nurse Residents.

Works to successfully implement and sustain the OU Health Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program under supervision of the Director of Nursing Professional Development , and in collaboration with/support of the various nursing, ancillary and support department leaders within the organization.
Communicates effectively, both written and verbally, through all levels of OU Health to facilitate identification and resolution of issues or program elements, ensuring that the residency program remains dynamic and reflective of current and innovative best practices that promote a healthy practice environment.
Develops the OUH Nurse Residency Program Curriculum in collaboration with the Executive Nursing Council and Clinical Education Department.
Conducts and/or coordinates classes, skills verification labs, specialized courses, group session and other activities that constitute OUH Nurse Residency Program.
Serves on the OUH Residency Advisory Board, evaluates program outcomes, reports outcome data and articulates program needs.
Supports core OUH orientation, NRP and continuing education/professional development activities.
Works collaboratively with leaders, clinical and other experts, and colleagues throughout OUH to identify educational needs and practice gaps and design programs to address these needs.
Utilizes evidence based knowledge and standards of practice to plan, design, implement and evaluate educational activities to address the identified needs and achieve specific outcomes.
Participates in performance improvement activities
Assists with maintaining accreditation and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred
Experience: Four (4) years’ experience to include combination of relevant clinical/technical practice, responsibility for educational functions/processes and/or leadership accountabilities. Experience with outcomes facilitating and leading nursing residency program preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC). Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. National Nursing Certification Preferred.
