Job Description

Our client, a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering comprehensive mental health services, is hiring a Psychiatrist to join their dynamic team on Long Island. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to impact patient care significantly through a blend of outpatient and hospital-based psychiatric services, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including diagnostic assessments and treatment planning both in-person and via telehealth platforms.
  • Provide medication management and brief supportive psychotherapy tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Monitor patient progress continuously and modify treatment plans accordingly to optimize outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, hospital staff, and administrative leaders to coordinate care across multiple settings.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, clinical case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere strictly to clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory standards to ensure high-quality care delivery.

Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry residency program.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Valid and active New York State medical license (or eligibility).
  • DEA certification with prescribing authority for controlled substances.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and deliver compassionate patient care.
  • Experience in consult/liaison psychiatry and outpatient settings.
  • Familiarity with integrated or collaborative care models.
  • Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish or other languages relevant to the local community.
  • Ability to accommodate a full-time schedule at North Fork of Long Island locations.
