• Board Certified in OB/GYN (board-eligible candidates may be considered)
• Active Iowa medical license or eligible through IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact)
• Minimum 1 year of OB/GYN hospitalist experience required (OB hospitalist or labor & delivery experience)
• Clean malpractice and professional background; Self-query NPDB (pulled within the month)
• Provider cannot be local to the Des Moines area (locum tenens requirement)

• Provide comprehensive OB hospitalist coverage for OBED patients, including emergent obstetric cases
• Manage vaginal deliveries and C-sections as needed; handle high-risk and emergent obstetric situations
• Care for patients without a primary OB/GYN and coordinate continuity of care
• Coordinate closely with the statewide maternity transport team (unique resource in Iowa)
• Document care and orders using Epic EMR (electronic medical record experience preferred)
• Collaborate with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) on-call providers and multidisciplinary hospital staff
• No general GYN responsibilities; role is focused strictly on obstetric hospitalist care
• No supervision of APPs or residents required for this assignment
