JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education Required - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related field.
Experience Required- Minimum two (2) years of experience in grant administration, healthcare finance, or nonprofit financial management.
Skills: Required- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and grant/financial management systems. Demonstrated ability to interpret complex funding guidelines and translate requirements into actionable organizational practices. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare clear, accurate reports for diverse audiences.

JOB SUMMARY
The Grant Specialist serves as a key support position for St. Bernards Healthcare’s awarded grant portfolio, with primary responsibility for post-award financial management, reporting, documentation, and compliance coordination across St. Bernards’ entities. This position helps ensure that awarded grant funds are tracked and used in alignment with funder requirements, organizational policy, and applicable regulations.
Reporting to the Grant Officer, the Grant Specialist supports allowable cost review, audit readiness, reimbursement requests, drawdowns, grant reporting, and post-award documentation. The role requires close coordination with program staff, finance, and leadership to help ensure grant-funded initiatives are implemented responsibly and that required documentation is complete, organized, and available when needed.
