Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA)

Wellstar Health System is seeking a skilled and motivated Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing orthopedic service line at our brand-new hospital in Columbia County, Georgia. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a collaborative, high-performing orthopedic team while helping establish services at a state-of-the-art facility.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive orthopedic care in both inpatient and outpatient settings

  • Assist in the operating room, including first assist responsibilities

  • Perform hospital rounds, consults, admissions, and discharges

  • Conduct pre- and post-operative evaluations and follow-up care

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging

  • Perform procedures within scope of practice (e.g., joint injections, splinting, casting)

  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, nursing staff, therapy, and care coordination teams

  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-operative care

  • Document care in the electronic medical record and participate in quality initiatives

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

  • Current Georgia licensure or eligibility

  • Orthopedic experience preferred, but motivated new graduates with strong interest in orthopedics are encouraged to apply

  • BLS required; ACLS preferred

  • Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills

  • Commitment to patient-centered care and team collaboration
