- Case Mix: Acute care, including ICU/PCU beds
- Phone Consults: Yes (Tele support for admissions and floor call)
- No. of Beds in Department: 53 Acute Care Beds (incl. 5 ICU/PCU beds)
- EMR System: Epic
- Support Staff Available: NPs and PAs (MD required to supervise)
- Vent management
- Board: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (ABIM, ABFM, ABMS)
- Licenses: Active unrestricted VA Medical License
- DEA / CDS: Active DEA with VA address (schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5)
- Certifications: ACLS
- Experience: Residency trained in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine; Graduate of accredited medical school (MD/DO)
- Other Qualifications: Case logs from past 2 years; ECFMG required for foreign medical graduates; Must be willing to supervise NPs/PAs
- Provide 12-hour in-house hospitalist coverage on a 7 on/7 off schedule
- Admit and manage acute care patients, including those in ICU/PCU beds
- Manage ventilator settings and respiratory care for ventilated patients
- Supervise and collaborate with nurse practitioners and physician assistants
- Coordinate with tele-support for admissions, floor calls, and night coverage
