The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Pediatric Neurologist/Epileptologist to join the Division of Pediatric Neurology in coastal Charleston, South Carolina. This position offers an exciting opportunity to help expand access to high-quality pediatric neurological care across the Charleston region while contributing to the growth of a dynamic and collaborative academic program.
About MUSC s Division of Pediatric Neurology:
The division is home to a Pediatric Level IV Epilepsy Center, accredited by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC), providing the highest level of comprehensive epilepsy care available to children. The multidisciplinary team is dedicated to maintaining strong partnerships with referring physicians to ensure seamless, long-term care for every patient. The division offers a full spectrum of specialized services, including speech-language pathology, neuropsychology, inpatient and outpatient video EEG monitoring, advanced diagnostic evaluations, and comprehensive epilepsy management. Patients benefit from a wide range of treatment options, including medical therapies, epilepsy surgery, and medical nutrition therapy through a dedicated ketogenic diet program.
MUSC Children s Hospital has consistently been the only institution in South Carolina to be ranked among U.S. News & World Report s edition of America s Best Children s Hospitals. MUSC is the only quaternary academic medical center in the state of South Carolina and is expanding rapidly. Many new opportunities are developing with the opening of the new MUSC Children s Pediatric Subspecialty R. Keith Summey Medical Pavilion, which offers comprehensive outpatient pediatric only services including specialty clinics, outpatient surgery, diagnostic imaging, infusion procedures, and support services such as lab and pharmacy. The new Shawn Jenkins Children s Hospital that opened in February 2020, offers state of the art tertiary and quaternary services.
